Outreach Manager

As Outreach Manager, Dana Weidig is often the first point of contact for individuals with ASD, families, caregivers and providers at events, by phone, or online. As CAR’s communicator, Dana develops all of CAR’s written materials and Web content, from blog posts, videos and marketing materials to social media and the CAR e-Newsletter. She, along with CAR’s social worker, Gail Stein, organizes CAR’s events and workshops and connects CAR faculty members with speaking opportunities and the media.

Before joining The Center for Autism Research, Dana was a Public Relations Specialist with The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. While there, she supported communications for many research centers within the CHOP Research Institute, including CAR. She enjoys meeting and working with individuals and families affected by ASD and developing strategies to make sure that reliable, evidence-based information finds its way into the hands of parents, educators, clinicians and the media by making CAR’s research accessible, actionable, and easy-to-understand for a variety of audiences.
