CAR Stands United with the Black Lives Matter Movement Against Racism and Social Injustice
Over the past few months, the Center for Autism Research (CAR) has been inspired by and stands united with the Black Lives Matter movement against racism and social injustice. The importance of racial and ethnic diversity in research cannot be overstated - it is absolutely critical that our studies include diverse participants in order for research findings to be relevant for all. To continue this important conversation, our team has organized “CAR Call to Action,” an employee-run resource group centered around addressing the inequalities faced by individuals and families of color within the ASD community, as well as those that could exist within our own research practices and staffing.
You are our neighbors and family partners. We hope you will join with us, learn alongside us, and help us advance anti-racism in our research, communities, and workplaces. If you are interested in sharing ideas or becoming involved, please consider completing a brief survey, or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We encourage and thank you for your feedback, and we look forward to sharing our progress and our specific commitments with you very soon.
